Former Boeing Commercial Airplanes chief executive Jim Albaugh has been named a senior advisor at investment powerhouse Blackstone, where he will focus on private equity deals in the aerospace and defense sector, the company said.

Albaugh left Boeing last June, three years short of Boeing’s standard retirement age of 65. Before leading the Commercial Airplanes division he had run Boeing’s defense and space groups.

Blackstone said Albaugh also will be “advising other businesses and clients across Blackstone’s diverse platforms.”
