Paul Otellini, Intel Corp.'s fifth CEO, will leave the post in May after a four-decade career with the chipmaker, including eight years at the helm. Here are some biographical details on Otellini.

NAME: Paul S. Otellini

CURRENT TITLE: President and CEO, Intel Corp. Retiring May 16.

AGE: 62

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in economics from University of San Francisco, 1972; M.B.A from University of California, Berkeley, 1974.

CAREER: CEO since May 18, 2005. Named president and chief operating officer and joined board of directors in 2002. Previously managed several Intel businesses, including PCs and servers division and global sales and marketing. Joined Intel in 1974 out of college.

OTHER APPOINTMENTS: Serves on board of Google Inc. Serves of President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
