No let up for auto sales in March; pickups star

MARCH SALES: U.S. auto sales rose 3.4 percent to 1.45 million in March, their highest level since August 2007. Car sales fell slightly from last March but pickup truck sales jumped 14 percent.

WINNERS AND LOSERS: The new Nissan Altima outsold the Toyota Camry - the perennial best-selling midsize car - by 100 vehicles. It was the first time in nearly two years that the Altima outsold the Camry.
