How the Dow Jones industrial average did Thursday

The Dow Jones industrial average reached another milestone, recording its longest winning streak since 1996.

The index rose for the tenth day in a row Thursday. It broke through its previous all-time high March 5th and has kept going.

The Dow rose 83.86 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 14,539.14.

The S&P 500 index gained 8.71 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,563.23.

The Nasdaq composite rose 13.81, or 0.4 percent, to 3,258.93.

For the week:

The Dow is up 142.07, or 1 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 12.05, or 0.8 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 14.56, or 0.5 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 1,435.00, or 11 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 137.04, or 9.6 percent.

The Nasdaq composite is up 239.42, or 7.9 percent.
