J&J RESPONSE: J&J will appeal. It says the evidence doesn't support the verdict, as jurors found the company didn't misrepresent Prolift, yet found it didn't warn surgeons sufficiently about risks.

THE LITIGATION: J&J and other makers of implants, which lift drooping pelvic organs, together face tens of thousands of lawsuits from patients.
