On the move: Unmacht named chief operating officer at REI

Brian Unmacht was promoted to chief operating officer at REI, where he will oversee retail, e-commerce, merchandising, private brands, information technology and supply chain.

Unmacht started at REI in 1986 as a store supervisor and has held a number of leadership positions at the Kent-based outdoor gear and apparel retailer.

Unmacht also serves as first vice chairman on the board of directors for the Outdoor Industry Association.

Banking: James Doolittle was hired as a senior investment strategist at Wells Fargo Private Bank, Seattle.

Commercial real estate: Tim Chin joined Kidder Mathew's Bellevue office as a vice president.

Construction: Dan Beason, Mark Mershon and Bob Paddock were promoted to senior superintendents at Skanska USA, Seattle.

Health care: Jon Areitio was named senior sales executive for third-party administrators at First Choice Health, Seattle.

Law: Lee Marchisio and Rylan Weythman joined Foster Pepper, Seattle. Krista Nelson joined Mills Meyers Swartling, Seattle.

Marketing: Melissa Durfee Davis was named media director at GreenRubino, Seattle.

Nonprofits: Gloria Hatcher-Mays was hired as executive director of the Home Care Association of Washington and the Alliance for Healthy Communities at Melby, Cameron and Anderson, Edmonds.

Resorts: Connie Krause was appointed director of sales at Salish Lodge & Spa, Snoqualmie.

Seafood: Michael DeCaro was named national sales representative at Sea Delight in Seattle.

Social services: Trina Gadsden was named executive director of Youth in Focus, Seattle.

Technology: Brett Helsel was appointed senior vice president of engineering operations at Apptio, Bellevue.
