NEW YORK — Boeing and Kuwaiti airplane-leasing company ALAFCO said they have finalized an order for 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8s valued at $2.0 billion at their current list price.

ALAFCO buys planes, then leases them to airlines. The deal was first announced in July at Britain's Farnborough Air Show.

The companies did not say when the planes are expected to be delivered.

The order brings the total number of 737 MAX orders to date to 878. The forthcoming plane, due to enter service in 2017, will be manufactured in Renton.
