Tower 801, a 25-story apartment tower at Eighth Avenue and Pine Street in downtown Seattle, was sold Tuesday for nearly $50 million, according to county records.
Goodman Real Estate of Seattle and Capri Capital Partners of Chicago purchased the 173-unit building, built in 1970, from Essex Property Trust of Palo Alto, Calif.
Essex paid $31.7 million for the tower in 2005, records indicate.
This story has been corrected. An earlier version misidentified the buyer as an affiliate of the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association
