THE CAR: Honda starts production of its revamped 2013 Honda Accord midsize sedan on Monday, and it's due in showrooms in a few weeks.

WHAT'S NEW: Honda says the restyled new Accord will be the best in its class in handling, visibility and luxury. It also will be competitive in fuel economy and the price will be similar to the current Accord, which starts at $21,480.

THE COMPETITION: In years past, the Accord and Toyota's Camry dominated the U.S. midsize car market. But in recent years, Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, Hyundai and Volkswagen have rolled out strong models, gaining sales and market share.
