Industrial production is falling in Germany with official data showing a drop of 0.9 percent in June compared with the previous month.
The figure, released by the Economy Ministry Wednesday, was roughly in line with economists' expectations. It followed a 1.7 percent increase in May - revised upward from the initial reading of 1.6 percent.
The ministry said production of investment goods such as factory machinery was down 1.6 percent in June.
Earlier this week, official figures showed that industrial orders dropped by an unexpectedly large 1.7 percent in June from the previous month, led by a slide in orders from other countries that use the euro.
On Wednesday, the Federal Statistical Office says German exports were down 1.5 percent in June compared with the previous month.
