Burien city officials again have postponed plans to buy back three acres from developer Harbor Urban while the firm comes up with a new plan for the site.

The sale was to close Wednesday, but now has been pushed back indefinitely, City Manager Mike Martin said. Harbor Urban now is proposing apartments and little, if any, retail, he said.

The developer bought the property from the city in 2007, and was to build condos and retail there as part of Burien Town Square, a public-private effort to revitalize Burien's downtown. The city council, tired of waiting, voted last month to exercise a clause in the contract to buy the land back.
