The University of Missouri-Kansas City has announced two new gifts totaling $1.25 million.
The gifts were announced during the recent groundbreaking for an $18 million expansion of the Miller Nichols Learning Center that will add 950 classroom seats.
One gift worth $1 million comes from the Miller Nichols Charitable Foundation. Another gift worth $250,000 was presented by Jeannette Nichols. The money will be used to renovate the third and fourth floors of the Miller Nichols Library.
In 2010, the Board of Curators approved a bond initiative that is funding the $18 million expansion project.
