On the move: Dr. Kaj Johansen named a surgery chief at Swedish

Dr. Kaj Johansen has been named chief of vascular surgery, a two-year term, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.

Johansen is on the staff of the The Polyclinic and also is a clinical professor of surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

He received his medical degree from the UW and has a Ph.D. in physiology/pharmacology from the University of California, San Diego.

Banking: Martha Choe and Nicole Piasecki were appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco's Seattle branch. Jennifer Daquiz Hare joined JPMorgan Chase commercial banking as a senior vice president, senior banker, Seattle. Chris Merrywell was promoted by Union Bank to regional managing director of The Private Bank in the Northwest, Seattle.

Commercial real estate: Heather Nix was hired as a senior portfolio manager for real-estate-management services at Colliers International — Puget Sound, Seattle.

Energy systems: Greg Romanoff was hired as vice president and general manager at Cascade Oil, Seattle.

Engineering: Dean Furr and Michael Moody were hired as project engineers at Core Design, Bellevue.

Law: Dana Henderson joined the law firm of James S. Rogers, Seattle.

Restaurants: Mat Hayward was appointed general manager of Wild Ginger Bellevue, and Cortney Lease was named company wine director at Wild Ginger Seattle, Wild Ginger Bellevue and The Triple Door in Seattle.

Social services: Megan Karch was promoted to CEO of FareStart, Seattle.

Technology: Richard Stalzer was appointed president of mobile marketing and advertising at Motricity, Bellevue.
