Kayla Burt was hired as an outreach coordinator for The Hope Heart Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization in Bellevue.

Burt is a former University of Washington basketball star who survived sudden cardiac arrest in 2002 and was given CPR by teammates until medics arrived.

In her new job, Burt will work mostly with high-school and college students, teaching them about CPR and a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Banking: Mark Hutcheson was hired as assistant vice president, commercial banking officer at Pacific Continental Bank's office in downtown Seattle.

Consulting: Geir Watland joined Canterbury Consulting in Seattle as vice president.

Health care: Dr. Samuel Nadler joined The Polyclinic in Seattle as a pulmonary-disease specialist.

Investment banking: John O'Dore joined Meridian Capital in Seattle as a managing director.

Marketing: Kevin O'Reilly was hired as director of social-marketing analytics and research at Spring Creek Group, Seattle.

Planning: Pete Lawson was named managing associate at Environmental Science Associates, Seattle.

Retail: Maria Stipp was appointed chief customer officer at Coinstar, Bellevue.
