Procter & Gamble to update liquid Tide next month

The Procter & Gamble Co. will launch its first major overhaul of liquid Tide laundry soap in nearly a decade next month.

The Procter & Gamble Co. will launch its first major overhaul of liquid Tide laundry soap in nearly a decade next month.

The new Tide Actilift will start shipping to North America in July and be available in certain varieties such as Tide original. It has new ingredients that the company says can better remove stains and prevent them.

Chief Financial Officer Jon Moeller made the announcement during an investors conference by Deutsche Bank in Paris on Wednesday.

He says the products have been in Europe since January and market share has increased 2 percentage points to almost 28 percent.

Moeller also says all of the company's powdered detergents including Tide will use one-third less packaging. The powder products also will be upgraded. Those products will start shipping in February.
