Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, checks out a seat in first class Tuesday after Boeing's formal delivery to the airline of its first 787 Dreamliner, the 16th of the new jets to be delivered out of Everett.
Ethiopian — only the third airline to take the jet, after ANA and JAL of Japan — flies from Addis Ababa to major cities across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as to Washington, D.C. The airline has nine more 787s on order.
The jet is set to fly Wednesday to Dulles International Airport, near Washington, D.C., where VIP guests will tour the cabin before the inaugural passenger flight to Addis Ababa on Thursday.
