Boeing 747-8 arrives in California for more test flights
The Boeing 747-8 freighter jet is the second of three flight test airplanes to roll out of the factory. The other two will join it in Palmdale in the coming weeks.
Seattle Times aerospace reporter
Boeing flew one of its new 747-8 test airplanes to Palmdale, Calif., Monday, following completion of the first phase of flight testing from Moses Lake.
The freighter jet is the second of three flight test airplanes to roll out of the factory. The other two will join it in Palmdale in the coming weeks.
A contingent of more than 100 Boeing employees has been transferred to Palmdale for the testing, including flight-test engineers and the support personnel who prepare the airplane for each day's flights.
Boeing said the 747-8 freighter is still on schedule for first delivery to Cargolux in the fourth quarter of this year.
