Learn more about light rail in Bel-Red, Overlake

Posted by Nicole Tsong

When it comes to light rail in Bellevue, most of the buzz and discussion has centered on South Bellevue and a downtown tunnel. But Sound Transit also has been making progress on other portions of the light-rail line in Bel-Red and Overlake.

For those interested to know more, Sound Transit is hosting an open house Thursday to share information about engineering work done so far in the Bel-Red and Overlake areas. The meeting will run from 5-7:30 p.m. at Highland Community Center, 14224 N.E. Bel-Red Road.

The 14-mile East Link line will run from Seattle to Overlake, including stations at 120th Avenue Northeast East and/or at 130th Avenue Northeast. There also will be an Overlake Village Station and an Overlake Transit Center Station. East Link is scheduled to start service in 2020.
