Students from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication are supplementing the Times' coverage of the Mariners in Peoria, Ariz.



Nikki Camarillo

Nikki Camarillo is a senior at ASU majoring in journalism with a minor in sociology. A native of Phoenix, she's a diehard New England Patriots fan and her dream job is to be a sideline reporter in the NFL.

Jon Kingston

Jon Kingston is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in film and media production at ASU. A native of Mesa, Ariz., his goal is to be a play-by-play broadcaster in the NFL.

Evie Carpenter

Evie Carpenter is a junior at ASU. She was born and raised in Phoenix but can't wait to see the world and someday wants to work as a photographer for National Geographic.

Alex Paris

Alex Paris, of Glendale, Ariz., is a senior at ASU majoring in journalism. She loves telling video stories and calls herself a coffee addict who enjoys interacting with people.

Emily Hopwood

Photographer Emily Hopwood, from Peoria, Ariz., is in her second year of journalism studies at ASU. An avid photographer, she believes every moment counts and should be captured through a lens.

Megan Stewart

Megan Stewart, of Lakeville, Minn., is a junior at ASU majoring in journalism. She is drawn to sports in part, she says, because she's so competitive. She hopes to become a book author.
