Overdose deaths linked exclusively to methadone
Dr. Gary Franklin, medical director for the state Department of Labor & Industries, told lawmakers in mid-December that in cases of fatal overdose, "you never see just methadone" on the death certificate. But The Seattle Times found 443 cases since 2003 where methadone was the only drug listed. The table below lists those deaths, providing details about the people who died and the official cause of death.
