July 4th fireworks in Seattle

Seattle has enjoyed public July 4th fireworks since at least World War I, when Hitt Fireworks staged a 300-foot replica of Flanders Field at what is now Husky Stadium. American Legion Post No. 1 sponsored the show, later moving it to Green Lake.
