No. 17 UCLA women beat 12th-ranked Texas | College basketball

HOUSTON — Alyssia Brewer collected 12 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 17 UCLA held No. 12 Texas to 24 percent shooting en route to a 62-42 victory Saturday in the MD Anderson Proton Therapy Showcase.
Jasmine Dixon added 10 points for the Bruins (5-1), who have played three ranked teams already this season.
Nneka Enemkpali had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Texas (5-1).
No other Longhorn player had more than six points as Texas made a mere 15 of 63 field-goal attempts and committed 29 turnovers.
UCLA led 13-12 midway through the first half, then scored 15 straight points to pull away for good.
The game was played at Reliant Stadium, home to the NFL Houston Texans, as part of a Texas-UCLA men's and women's doubleheader.
No. 5 Notre Dame
romps at home
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Natalie Achonwa and Markisha Wright dominated inside, and Skylar Diggins got everyone involved.
It was that kind of day for No. 5 Notre Dame.
Achonwa tied a career high with 23 points and also had 12 rebounds to help the Fighting Irish rout Utah State 109-70.
Wright added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Diggins had 12 points and 10 assists. It was the first time in seven years three women had double-doubles for the Irish (6-1).
Devyn Christiansen scored 21 for the Aggies (2-7).
at New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Kama Griffitts scored a game-high 16 points to help Arizona win 58-53 over New Mexico before a crowd of 7,928 at The Pit.
Arizona (6-3) won despite shooting 32 percent from the field. The Lobos (7-3) shot 33 percent.

Brigham Young 53, at Utah 48
Haley Steed scored 22 points to lead the Cougars (5-4) past the Utes (7-1).
Taryn Wicijowski had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Utah.
