With heart and determination, horses run for our money

Mark Gibson, the starter in charge of the starting-gate crew at Emerald Downs, tries to calm filly Tsarina Haven as the horse bucks and kicks while overheating after a race on a hot July day. When a horse overheats on the track, the staff's priority is to cool it down with cold water to prevent its legs from giving out or thrashing and accidentally harming the staff or itself.
