Germans, now alongside Allies, honor D-Day victims

World War II veterans who took part in the invasion of Normandy, William Spriggs, left, and Francis Markuins, both from the 83rd Infantry Division, stand during the playing of "Taps" following a military parade during D-Day week commemorations on Wednesday in Carentan, France. Friday is the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings of 156,000 Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy.
