Japanese-American soldier kept quiet about World War II heroics

Karen Matsumoto of Bainbridge Island holds a portrait of her father, the late war hero Roy Matsumoto, who died in April at the age of 100. On Sunday, KCTS will show the historical documentary a “Honor & Sacrifice: The Roy Matsumoto Story” which discloses the highly secretive work he did in the Army as a member of “Merrill’s Marauders,” an American unit in Burma during World War II.
