Martyrs, miracles and the stuff of making saints

The embalmed body of Pope John XXIiI seen at the altar of Saint Jerome in St. Peter's Basilica. Pope from October 1958 till his death in 1963, he was originally buried in the Vatican grottoes beneath Saint Peter's Basilica in June 1963 but upon his beatification in September 2000 was moved to the present site.
