Following Dante’s footsteps in Florence

Florence's cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, more famously known as the Duomo, is seen from the Palazzo Vechio. Dante Alighieri is said to have sat on a rock watching the cathedral's construction. Dante's history is very much alive in Florence, 700 years after the great poet lived here.
