Get ready for Nebraska's vast crane migration

Sandhill Cranes settle down for the night on sandbars in the Platte River near Gibbon, Neb. The cranes, on their annual migration north, stop over along the Platte River in central Nebraska for rest and food. Peak times to see the birds there — hundreds of thousands of them migrate — is late March.
