Pet attorney is raising the bar on what beloved pets are worth

Full-time animal lawyer Adam Karp, known widely as “the pet attorney," works out of a small office in Bellingham. His (somewhat controversial) goal is to make animals as valued in the eyes of the law as they are in the eyes of their owners, and not simply seen as property.
