New high-tech maps detail wildlife habitat in West

A sample of a new, high-tech wildlife habitat mapping project is seen in this photo taken on a computer at the Nevada Department of Wildlife in Reno. The Crucial Habitat Assessment Tool (CHAT) will pull together in one place maps for 16 western states in the hope of encouraging economic development while protecting the region's environmental treasures, from Puget Sound to the Rocky Mountains.
