Titanic bandleader’s violin auctions for more than $1.6M

A violin, believed to have been played by Titanic bandmaster Wallace Hartley before he drowned, is displayed Friday at the Henry Aldridge and Son auction house in Devizes, England. The instrument sold for more than $1.6 million during an auction Saturday.
