An old urinal, planted with annuals, hangs on the courtyard’s lattice fence. The eclectic little garden space, sandwiched between house and studio, features white ‘Annabelle’ hydrangeas, mature paperbark maples (Acer griseum) and work by McDonnell in granite, bronze, stainless steel and glass.
