Architect Stephen Sullivan’s home of perfect imperfection

Stephen Sullivan and contractor Jim Strode agreed that a cupola should be cut into the roof over the stairs to bring in light. What appears to be carefully treated walls is simply the remnants of old wallpaper glue: “I think of it as my Italian villa,” Sullivan says of the effect.
