Architect Stephen Sullivan’s home of perfect imperfection

Light from the new cupola washes over the stairwell. “The house was a surprising ruin. There’s lots of evidence of the battles of teenage boys here,” Sullivan says of occasional pokes into the wall. He had no more plans for the home other than “to keep the water out, the heat in and bring light into the core.”
