Heat record broken, but cooler temperatures on the way

Mollie DiTullio splashes water toward friends in the Cedar River on Monday in Renton. The temperature reached 89 at 6 p.m. Monday at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, breaking the record of 87 degrees in 1995. Cooler temperatures are forecast for the rest of week.
