Next generations tell the buried tales of Chinese Northwesterners

Doug Chin's own research on family members, such as his maternal grandparents, Wong Toy and family, pictured here in 1920, have produced a new book, "Chinese in Washington State," co-authored with his brother, Art. "I always thought that somebody would write the story about the Chinese-American experience in Washington state," he recalls. "My brother also thought that. But nobody did. That's how we got to doing it."
