Bertha Landes, Seattle’s first, last female mayor

Queen Marie, of Romania, center, visited Seattle during Mayor Bertha Landes’ time in office. In the front seat, wearing a top hat, was Sam Hill, the wealthy railway man who created Maryhill museum in Klickitat County.
