Your city garden can go completely wild

Landscape architect Keith Geller's garden in the Madison Valley is designed for people and birds. He plants in layers: Birches (Betula nigra) for a leafy canopy under-planted with a mix of natives and ornamentals including evergreens for year-round bones, mixed with deciduous plants for flowers, berries and autumn color.
