Bill Peckham has not let kidney disease limit what he does. At puppy training class, Banjo, his Aussie Shepherd, second from left, joins a conga line of dogs at free play. After Peckham's 1988 transplant failed, he began dialysis, traveling to 34 countries since 1990, dialyzing in 22 of them with his portable machine or arranging for sessions at local centers.
