Safety violation blamed for huge Cle Elum wildfire

Taylor Bridge construction work moved forward last August despite nearby flames on the third day of the Taylor Bridge wildfire. A state report now says the blaze started because contractors failed to observe a state order to shut down welding and power tools on an afternoon of high fire danger.
