From Walla Walla to the nation's capital, sculptures honoring our wounded warriors

Hot wax is positioned in a mold by the Walla Walla Foundry's Chad Stevens, left, and Nic Marks, for a process called lost-wax casting. A wax shape is coated in ceramic and then molten metal is poured into the ceramic, melting and replacing the wax.
