Architect Marcie McHale anchors her contemporary kitchen in a sea of blue

The home, a modified classic box on North Capitol Hill, was purchased in 2007, and the kitchen was reborn for Christmas 2010. McHale added subtle contemporary touches throughout out the home, here melding traditional and modern furniture and warm, creamy-white paint with ceiling cans in the living room.
