A boat was just an example of what engineering students at the University of Washington could build with the aid of waste plastic and a 3D printer. Brandon Bowman, left, and Bethany Weeks, were part of a team that won an international competition with their idea of transforming shredded plastic bottles into infrastructure in the developing world.
