Murals and signs for the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution can be seen throughout Havana. The CDR, a series of neighborhood groups across Cuba, works to enforce the mission and mandates of the Cuban government taken over by Fidel Castro in 1959 and now run by his brother, Raúl Castro.
