University of Washington adds housing with big building boom

Ryan Cook, of Mukilteo, moves into his room at Alder Hall on Sunday. The brand-new hall has rooms with configurable furniture, as well as a medium-size grocery store on its ground floor. Most students will move in next weekend; fall quarter starts Sept. 24.
