Woolworth stores are gone, but opulent houses remain

A home owned by Frank Winfield Woolworth, the founder of the now-defunct five-and-dime stores that carried his name, in Glen Cove, N.Y., stands like a postcard from another era. The home is the largest surviving of the Woolworth homes, built in the early 20th century.
