Gordon Walker designs an island home for books and big views

Nepalese carpets add color against white walls and pale wood floors. "Gordon was inspired by our work in big, open, white dance studios," says Russell of the light-filled interiors. The red painting near the fireplace is by Seattle artist Tom Burrows.
