Garden designer works magic with a pot and a few foliage plants

A successful container planting is one in which each element looks better combined with its companions than by itself, as with the spiky Astelia chathamica grounded by the pleated leaves of angel wing begonias. A stand crafted from scrap metal holds the composition high enough so that Dichondra 'Silver Falls' can put on a Rapunzel-like show.
