A lost Seattle climber's family seeks an elusive peace

David Somers, 42, named his daughter Sloan, after the craggy Cascade Mountains peak where his father, Wally, disappeared nearly 40 years ago. Her birth drove home the long-term pain associated with losing a parent -- especially one the child barely remembers. "I can't imagine putting myself in a situation where I could get into an accident and lose my life," he says.
