Migratory birds' patterns can be detected on radar, which atmospheric scientist Cliff Mass describes on his blog. The image at left was taken a little after sunset, at 8:33 p.m. April 12. Just an hour later, the image at right shows, it's rush hour for migratory birds taking flight. Most travel at night.
